Get to Know Me

PC: Morgan Chapman Media
Hi, I’m Kandice—owner of MDR Equine Therapy Services and a lifelong “horse girl” at heart.
From the moment I could walk, I was drawn to horses. If I wasn’t at the barn, I was reading about them or playing with toy horses for hours. Even today, I’m still that person yelling “HORSES!” whenever I pass them in a pasture or see a trailer on the road. That childlike wonder has never left—it simply grew into a deep respect for the beauty, movement, and spirit of these incredible animals.
My journey into equine therapies began with my heart horse. He wasn’t recovering the way I’d hoped, and traditional approaches just weren’t working. That’s when I discovered equine massage and PEMF therapy. Watching his transformation sparked something in me—I dove into every book, course, and hands-on opportunity I could find. I shadowed practitioners, studied anatomy, and poured myself into learning how to help him—and eventually, others—heal and thrive.
That passion became a calling.
Today, I am a Nationally Certified Equine Massage Therapist through NBCAAM and an AOPP Certified PEMF Practitioner. I specialize in combining massage and PEMF in sessions to maximize results and support whole-body wellness for equine athletes, companions, and seniors alike.
I believe in a collaborative approach to care—working alongside veterinarians, farriers, saddle fitters, chiropractors, and other equine professionals. By listening to each horse and sharing insights across the care team, we can make smarter, more effective decisions that support long-term health and performance.
As a former teacher, I value education deeply—both for myself and for the owners I work with. I stay up to date on the latest research and techniques to bring you the best in care. I also believe in empowering owners with tools and knowledge to extend the benefits of each session long after I leave the barn.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. Whether I’m helping your horse recover, maintain performance, or simply feel their best—I’m honored to be part of your horse’s care team. Be sure to follow along on my website and social channels for updates, new services, and educational resources.
Let’s continue to Maintain. Develop. Restore.—together.
